Lymes’ Senior Center Board of Directors Meeting
April 16, 2018
PRESENT: Jeri Baker, Gary Weed, Doris Hungerford, Joni Bonvicin, Diana Seckla, Don Abraham, Sue Campbell, Kathy Lockwood, Stephanie Lyon-Gould, Ann Griffith, Johnny Cody
ABSENT: Dot McAndrew, Doris Johnson
CALL TO ORDER: Jeri Baker at 1:00
SECRETARY’S REPORT: A motion to accept March, 2018 minutes with correction to the spelling of Diana Seckla’s name - was called for by Gary Weed. Joan Bonvicin seconded. Unanimous approval.
TREASURER’S REPORT: Doris Hungerford - Treasurer’s Report for November 9, 2017 to December 15, 2017 was unanimously approved.
COMMUNICATIONS: Jeri Baker read a letter from the First Selectmen of Old Lyme and Lyme concerning the State of Connecticut’s recently changed ruling that regulates Bingo Gaming. The Lymes’ Senior Center will not be offering Bingo until further notice. The towns need time to determine whether adequate resources are available to insure compliance.
COMMITTEE REPORTS:
Director’s Notes: Stephanie Lyon-Gould - Stephanie reviewed April and May upcoming events and programming. The participation numbers for the Center were February - 1523, and March - 1467.
Building Use: Gary Weed - The handicap access door doesn’t work and is being looked in to. The painters broke a window and they will pay to have it replaced. The floor has been refinished and the carpet cleaned in spots as necessary. The air conditioning mal functions are being addressed. The fire extinguishers have been checked. Gary has reset the outside lights to reflect new daylight hours.
Special Events: Stephanie Lyon-Gould - The July 12th Concert by the Douop deVilles will be streamed live by WCSH Radio.
OLD BUSINESS:
Membership Policy Education/Notification Update: Jeri Baker - Members are encouraged to pick up the new policies and procedures statement at the center. New members will receive the notification when they sign up for membership.
Memorial Bricks and Dedication Ceremony Update: Jeri Baker - The Ceremony will be held on June 26th at 1:00. Sue Campbell, Joni Bonvicin and Gary Weed have volunteered to facilitate and to contact family members and people who should be in attendance.
Other Old Business: Jeri Baker - Andrea Fenton and others plan to work with the high school to establish and grow the garden this year.

May Meeting Includes Nominations for Officers: Jeri Baker - Let the board know if you would like to be nominated for an office.
